To provide guidance for safety and health of all people that need to enter or work inside confined space, ICOP were publish by DOSH.

Hazards arise when working inside confined space includes oxygen deficiency, excessive oxygen, presence of contaminant, physical hazard, and biological hazard. Before any entry, employer shall identify all hazard associated, carried a risk assessment, and implement the procedure and practices, of hazard control that provide safe entry into the confined space.

Before any entry begins, permit issuer shall issue permit to work to authorize entrant. Permit issuer should not be the same person to entry supervisor. Duration of permit to work should be stated and entrant should not exceed time required to complete the task. A confined space should be isolated before any entry. Method of isolation vary based on the risk involved.
